Tom Tasset Jr. started his insurance career in 1981, joining his father’s agency after a brief stint with a local finance company. He credits his dad for starting him out “the right way” by giving him a desk, a phone, a phonebook and the following sales advice. “Stay away from our relatives and neighbors because they are already my customers.” 14 years later, Tom Jr. purchased his dad’s interest in the agency. Around that same time he moved the agency to it’s current location on Cheviot Road.

Tom earned his Certified Insurance Counselor’s designation in 1998. He currently serves on the board of the Greater Cincinnati Independent Agent’s Association. He also serves on several insurance company advisory committees, both regional and national.

As President of HTT Agency, Tom spends a lot of his time overseeing the day to day operations of the business. His passion, however, is the everyday contact he still enjoys with his customers. “Not everyone is passionate about insurance”, he acknowledges. . . “But we are.” He explains, “When someone suffers a loss, and they are accounted for because we chose the right solution for them and championed the process. . . We feel good.” He goes on to say that, “We do our best to give our customers the most pleasant insurance experience possible.”

Growing up in an insurance family, he learned early on the importance of proper insurance protection. He explains, “I recall riding with my dad and visiting his clients whose homes were literally turned upside down from the tornadoes that swept through the town on April 3, 1974. I can’t say it was at that moment that I chose to follow in my dad’s footsteps. . . I was only 16 at the time, but it did give me a new appreciation for just what it was that my dad did for a living.” He went on to say that, “I carry that memory with me today. There have been tornadoes since then, and other types of claims that have affected the everyday lives of my clients.” Tom concluded, “My goal as an agent, and agency owner, is to make sure our customers lives are put back in place as quickly and fairly as possible.”

Tom states that, “The insurance industry has changed dramatically since I started in the business 23 years ago. At HTT, we’ve done our best to evolve along with it. We employ only the best people in our industry, and represent the best companies.”
